The Children’s Society is a leading national charity, driven by the belief that every child deserves a good childhood. We provide vital help and understanding for those forgotten children who face the greatest danger, discrimination or disadvantage in their daily lives; children who are unable to find the support they need anywhere else.

Our network of projects helps tens of thousands of children and their families each year, supporting young runaways at risk on the street, children in trouble with the law, disabled children and young refugees, while our research and campaigning safeguards and protects the childhood of all children in the UK.

We are only able to continue our work through the generous donations of our supporters and volunteers and the general public. This allows us to concentrate our work where the need is greatest and not just in areas where government funding is available. It makes us a truly independent organisation.
