We help people find and keep a home. We campaign for decent housing for all. We are the fifth richest country in the world, and yet millions of people in Britain wake up every day in housing that is run-down, overcrowded or dangerous. Many others have lost their home altogether. Bad housing robs us of security, health, and a fair chance in life.
We help 100,000 people a year fight for their rights, get back on their feet, and find and keep a home. We also tackle the root causes of bad housing by campaigning for new laws, policies, and solutions. We can't do it on our own - your help and support is crucial if we are going to make our vision a reality. You can help by supporting our work through a donation, or a regular Direct Debit. As most of you will have seen, figures show there has been a 200,000 rise in UK children living in poverty last year. Although the government claims there has been considerable progress made in ending child poverty in the UK, many charities such as Shelter, have described the current plight as a moral disgrace.
